TA Onboarding Timeline

  1. TA positions are posted.
  2. Applications are submitted through the TA employment system.
  3. Instructors review and rate applicants.
  4. TA assignments are confirmed.
  5. TAs connect with instructors to confirm they are able to accept the assignment.
  6. TAs review and accept the TA agreement in the TA system.
  7. International TAs provide SIN and study permit information if requested and if not already in the system.
  8. Employment contracts are uploaded and automated emails to accept the contracts are issued.
  9. TAs take a screenshot or save a copy of their employment contract.
  10. TAs accept/e-sign employment contracts.
  11. TAs do not begin work until both the TA agreement and employment contract have been completed and accepted.
  12. Employee NetIDs become available after contract acceptance, following any systems delay.
  13. TAs activate employee NetIDs.
  14. TAs complete payroll setup, including direct deposit and income tax forms if they are new Queen’s employees.
  15. TAs send their employee NetID to their course instructor for OnQ course access.
  16. New Computing TAs send their employee NetID to the School for QSC TA training access.
  17. TAs complete required QSC and/or legislated training.
  18. TAs check their legislated training record, if needed.
  19. TAs send screenshots showing the date of completion for legislated training, if applicable.
  20. International TAs provide renewed SIN and/or renewed study permit information during the term if requested.
  21. TAs connect with instructors and begin duties.
  22. Payment is issued according to the monthly payroll schedule.
