Before contacting the School with a TA question, please check the following:
TA Agreement and Employment Contract
- Have I reviewed and accepted my TA agreement in the TA system?
- If I am an international TA, have I provided my SIN and study permit if requested?
- If my SIN or study permit expires during the term, have I provided my renewed SIN and/or renewed study permit once available, if requested?
- Have I checked my email and junk folder for the employment contract email?
- Have I taken a screenshot or saved a copy of my employment contract before accepting it?
- Have I reviewed and accepted/e-signed my employment contract?
- Did I accept/e-sign my contract by the 15th of the month?
- Have both my TA agreement and employment contract been completed and accepted before beginning TA work?
NetID and OnQ
- Have I allowed time for the systems delay after accepting/e-signing my contract?
- Have I tried activating my employee NetID?
- Did I click “Activate NetID / Forgot password”?
- Did I use my student number as my employee number?
- Is my employee NetID active?
- Have I sent my employee NetID to my course instructor?
- If I am new to TAing with Computing, have I sent my employee NetID to the School for TA training access?
Payroll
- Have I completed direct deposit setup, if required?
- If I am a new Queen’s employee, have I completed the income tax forms outlined on the Payroll New Employee page?
- Have I checked my Queen’s email for payroll, contract, or onboarding instructions?
Training
- Am I new to TAing with the School of Computing?
- Have I been added to the QSC TA training in OnQ?
- Have I completed the required QSC TA training?
- Have I completed required legislated training, if applicable?
- Have I checked my training record?
- Have I sent the School screenshots showing the date of completion for legislated training?
Course Expectations
- Have I contacted my course instructor?
- Do I understand my duties, schedule, and communication expectations?
- Am I keeping track of my hours?
